What cookies we use on this website, why we use them and how you stay in control.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in the same way and we include them whenever we say “cookies”. They help websites work, remember your choices and understand how a site is used.
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
We group cookies into four types. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. For everything else we ask for your consent first, and you can change your mind at any time.
| Type | What it does | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps the website secure and working, for example remembering a form you are filling in | No |
| Functional | Remembers your choices (such as your cookie settings) to give you a smoother experience | Yes |
| Analytics | Tells us how many people visit, which pages are popular and how they find us, so we can improve the site | Yes |
| Advertising | Lets us measure which of our adverts led to an enquiry and show relevant adverts on other sites | Yes |
The exact list depends on the tools installed on our website. Typical examples are:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | Better Build (WordPress) | Site security and, for logged-in staff, preferences | Necessary | Session – 1 year |
| cookie consent record [name] | Better Build | Remembers your cookie choices | Necessary | [12 months] |
| _ga, _ga_*, _gid | Google Analytics | Counts visitors and shows how the site is used | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures which adverts lead to enquiries | Advertising | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook / Instagram) | Measures advert performance and builds audiences | Advertising | 90 days |
[Check this table against the tools actually installed on the site before launch, and remove any rows that do not apply.]
When you arrive from one of our adverts, we note the campaign details in the link (such as the source and campaign name) and pass them to us with your enquiry. This tells us which advert you responded to. It does not identify you on its own.
Some cookies are set by other companies whose services we use, such as Google and Meta. We do not control these cookies. Please see their own policies:
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools or when the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
